How to Set Up A Hookah in 9 Steps

Did you just buy your first hookah pipe? Well, then you must be faced with the challenge of setting up the hookah. Hookah can be prepared in different ways, however the basic steps remain the same. You can use regular aluminum foil as well as the Heat Management System. Let’s first look at how we can set up shisha in Dubai i.e. Shisha Art using aluminum foil.

If you’re keen to regularly indulge in shisha smoking, you should also be aware of what a hookah kit contains:

  1. The base of the setup, known as the hookah vase, carries the stem, tray, and bowl. It not only holds the entire water pipe together, but also preserves and filters the smoke into the hose.
  2. The grommets are meant for creating an airtight seal and clasping the different parts of the water pipe. Every hookah kit comprises three chief grommets : hose, bowl, and base gasket.
  3. The part of the hookah that helps the smoke move from the bowl to the base is called the shaft.
  4. The tray serves the purpose of holding the excess tobacco and charcoal ashes, thus keeping them from falling.
  5. You also need something to separate the tobacco from the charcoal. This is where the charcoal screen comes into the picture. Some people, however, prefer using aluminum foil to serve this purpose.
  6. The part that enables you to inhale the smoke is called the hose.

We will need the following things to set up premium shisha online:

  1. Hookah
  2. Hookah bowl
  3. Water
  4. Shisha tobacco
  5. Aluminum foil (or heat management device)
  6. Board
  7. Foil poker
  8. Hookah tongs
  9. Fork
  10. Hookah coals
  11. Electric burner

Next, let’s look at the steps involved to enjoy premium shisha online:

  1. Some hookahs are equipped with stems which are attached to the base with a screw. On the other hand, some others have their stems attached with the help of a rubber grommet. The stem and the glass base need to be separated, by twisting, pulling, or so on.
  2. Next, you need to fill the hookah base with water. If you’re not sure of the quantity of water you should put in the hookah, well, you should make sure when you reattach the stem, its bottom should be submerged a maximum of 1-1.5 inches into the water. Without the right quantity of water, the smoke will not be filtered sufficiently. On the other hand, excess water will make it difficult to inhale. In all likelihood, you won’t get this right at the first go; it will take a few trials and errors to come to this perfect balance.
  3. After this, you need to join the stem of the hookah to the glass base and ensure it fits tightly. The hose needs to be attached to the hookah through the hose port. The tray should be put above the stem.
  4. In the next step, you have to place three coals on your electric burner, to make them light up. Quick lighting coals are not recommended for this, as they lend an unpleasant smell to the smoke. Natural hookah charcoal is the best bet for this.
  5. Then you need to scoop some hookah tobacco and put it into the bowl, with a fork. The quantity of tobacco will depend on the bowl size. The leaf veins may give off an unpleasant smell when burnt, so you can consider removing these veins from the tobacco. The tobacco should be packed gently, just about 2-3mm under the edge of the bowl, so that it is not too close to the foil. Simultaneously, you should try to make the pack as fluffy as possible to allow the air to pass freely through it.
  6. Next comes making the funnel; it should be as wide as a pencil. The funnel has to be made at the center of the tobacco to ensure that the air flow happens seamlessly.
  7. When it comes to preparing the foil as the next step, make sure you prepare it in a way that you can wrap it over the bowl easily. A piece of foil should be torn and folded twice. The foil has to be wrapped around the bowl’s top and then small holes have to be made with a poker in a cylindrical manner. Once it is done, you can attack the hookah bowl to the stem, you can make it even more airtight with a rubber grommet.
  8. In the next step, you should check the hookah coals; if they are red-hot, you should use a hookah tong to place them around the bowl’s edge. The coals should be evenly arranged around the top of the bowl. This will prevent the unequal distribution of heat, which can end up burning the tobacco way quicker than expected.
  9. Before starting smoking, you need to give ample time to the coals to warm up the bowl. You can add more red hot coals along the course of your smoking session to make the hookah last long.

Many shisha Dubai users are ignorant of how much water they should put in the hookah. Well, for a regular size water pipe, you should fill it up to a level that at least covers the tip of the metal stem; even a little more won’t hurt. Note that putting too much water in the hookah would hardly leave any space for the smoke to move freely. Besides, the water might get into the hookah bowl and the hose.

You can place the heated charcoal on a piece of aluminum foil, though some people prefer a Heat Management Device (HMD). The charcoal should be placed in a way that covers the tobacco that is in the bowl. When inhaling through the hose, air is forced past the coal due to suction. This heats the tobacco that is underneath, eventually producing smoke. The smoke then makes its way down the stem, travels through the water, and in the process, also cools down. This smoke then gets filled up in the base. From there, you simply draw it through the hose and inhale. That sums up the shisha smoking experience in a nutshell!

By having these tips and tricks on your fingertips, you can easily set up a hookah at home and create a relaxing ambiance with your friends for company. There might be days when you’re not in the mood to step into a shisha lounge, and that’s when these tips will come in handy.
